This accessibility statement applies to corporate.calmac.co.uk.
This website is run by the Caledonian MacBrayne. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. For example, that means you should be able to:

- Non-descriptive links: instances where the link text and/or accessible label does not provide an adequate description of the purpose of the link. We are ensuring all link text and/or accessible labels clearly describe the purpose of the link.
- Accessible label of links does not match visual text label: We are ensuring all accessible labels match the visual text label.
- Empty buttons: instances where buttons do not contain content. We are ensuring Ensure all buttons contain a descriptive label.
- Non-descriptive buttons: instances where the button text and/or accessible label does not provide an adequate description of the purpose of the button. We are ensuring all link button and/or accessible labels clearly describe the purpose of the link.
- State of drop-down menu component not conveyed to assistive technology: We are updating so the current state of the component can be identified by assistive technology.
- Tab panels in tab component not activated by keyboard: We are ensuring tab panels can be navigated by keyboard.
- Illogical focus order: The focus order of some elements is illogical. We are ensuring a logical focus order.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations - Medium Priority Issues:
- Low text contrast: Some text does not have sufficient contrast with the background. We are adjusting colour to meet contrast requirements.
- Low graphics contrast: Some graphical elements do not have sufficient contrast. We are improving the contrast of these elements.
PDFs and other documents
Some document formats such as PDF, MS Word and Excel may not be fully accessible. We plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages.
Disproportionate burden
We are not claiming that any of our accessibility issues are disproportionate to fix.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and Office file formats
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services. Where documents are updated and new PDF documents published, they will meet accessibility standards.
