Following work on annual vessel deployment plans and the continuing investigation into the issues affecting MV Hebridean Isles, the second phase of the final week of the summer 2023 timetable (16-22 October inclusive) will be released for bookings today, Wednesday 23 August 2023 by 2pm.
Most timetables will operate as normal; however, some will see amendments to earlier periods to support changes to the annual overhaul plans and the continuing investigations into the issues affecting MV Hebridean Isles.
The following routes will open for bookings on Wednesday 23 August:
- Colintraive - Rhubodach
- Ardrossan - Brodick
- Oban - Colonsay - Port Askaig - Kennacraig
- Mallaig – Armadale
- Mallaig - Small Isles
- Islay routes (for period 25 August - 24 September. Bookings for dates beyond 25 September will open on 6 September).
Full details of these routes and timetables are published on CalMac's website.
Pauline Blackshaw, Director of Operational Planning for CalMac, said: "We apologise for the delay in publishing the final week of the summer timetable. We required extra time to finalise vessel deployment to ensure the best service possible for communities when our scheduled annual overhaul season begins.
“Unfortunately, MV Hebridean Isles will not be available for the remainder of the summer timetable while we continue to investigate further repairs.
“I would encourage passengers to plan ahead as much as possible and to stay up to date with regular service updates by following @calmac_updates on Twitter."
Please note, MV Hebridean Isles will depart Ayr on Thursday 24 August for transit to Aberdeen to enter dry dock on 2 September for an estimated four weeks. Further repairs are being investigated to find a permanent fix to her manoeuvrability issue.
